Annabel Illingworth is a creative and strategist specialising in destination stewardship. She founded digital platform Vocalista to address a market gap, to give communities a say on matters which impact them in the context of strategic development, as well as providing real-time ground-truth data to decision makers at any level across the public and private sectors. Serving as a multi-tenant virtual town hall, Vocalista is pioneering a bespoke methodology to measure social, environmental and economic impact in destinations in collaboration with industry leaders, with a significant geospatial component.
Annabel also consults for national tourism boards (including helping craft and launch brand Visit Rwanda, and a sustainability initiative for the Saudi Ministry of Tourism), destination developers (including Assets Group, the fastest growing developer in the GCC), hospitality, airlines and yachting companies and writes about responsible tourism and off-the-beaten track experiences for the likes of TIME magazine, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Jet Set, Escapism, The i, Country and Town House etc.
