Julian Meersse

Head of Offer Placement Leisure , Lufthansa Group Airlines

Since July 2021, Julian has been leading the Purchase Point Management team for the Lufthansa Group airlines globally. In his position, he manages distribution partnerships to ensure maximum reach of Lufthansa Group’s offers on various selling platforms focused on leisure customers. Additionally, he ensures an optimal display of Lufthansa Group’s offer portfolio and is committed to fostering a close collaboration and strategic alignment with Sales to ensure a holistic development for both, the commercial and technical evolution of the relationships with partners. Julian is currently based in Zurich.

Prior to this, Julian served as Head of Business Development for the Americas between 2017 and 2021 in

New York, where he was responsible for steering the sales performance of Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines in the Americas region, including monitoring performance, aligning with network planning, implementing global strategy, managing incentive budgets, monitoring market environment, and leading and guiding managers in sales and e-commerce.

Julian’s career within the Lufthansa Group began in 2011 with Swiss International Air Lines as a Contracting Consultant and later held roles such as Senior Performance Analyst as well as Global Sales Steering Manager before assuming Group-wide positions.

Julian holds a Bachelor of Aviation Management and Business Administration from the International University Bad Honnef as well as an executive degree in Change Management at NYU Stern School of Business in 2019. 

His fields of expertise include sales, leadership, change management, travel management, account management, strategic planning, organizational skills, network planning, digitalization, big data, analytics, business intelligence, reporting, contract management, project management and Scrum.
