He is the author of 13 books, including Wonders in the Deep, a history of the world told through shipwrecks with the marine archaeologist Mensun Bound, Aiming High, the biography of ski and travel pioneer Erna Low, and The Origins of the Universe for Dummies with Stephen Pincock.
