Mike is the Chief Technology Officer for Trainline, and leads the company’s technical teams including software engineering, data engineering, AI and data science which collectively deliver the whole trainline product and platform. 

Trainline is the UK’s number 1 travel app and Europe’s number 1 rail app, integrating rail and coach data from hundreds of operators across the UK and Europe. The trainline platform combines realtime data with pricing, ticketing and route finding to deliver a simple elegant rail booking and fulfilment service to consumers and an innovative B2B platform for businesses across the world. 

Mike joined trainline in 2001 initially as Chief Data Officer before combing the technology and data organisation to become the combined CTO. Prior to Trainline he worked at Meta in London, leading data science and data engineering across Meta’s London teams to build data driven products for a global audience. Before that he led data science at Skype and built various technical data teams within Microsoft. Mike holds an MA and an MEng in Engineering and Information Science from the University of Cambridge.
